BTMC and ATEA delivered their own phone to the National Operating COmpany prior to 1956. In 1955 RTT wanted to deliver a RTT phone to their customers. So a "temporary association" BTMC/ATEA was setup to deliver a uniform phone to the RTT. Phones manufactured at Atea got a stamp 'RTT-56A", the ones manufactured by BTMC got a stamp RTT-56B"
A white version was delivered to be used in a medical environment, where everything is white.
An extensive study can be seen here.
I obtained these phones from my friend Fons.
